The
Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) is the nation’s leading
non-profit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the
causes and cure for lupus with nearly 300 chapters, branches and
support groups in 32 states.
The Lupus Foundation of America, Delaware Chapter became
recognized as a Chapter of the LFA in 1993.
Our
mission is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, support
individuals and families affected by the disease, increase awareness
of lupus among health professionals and the public, and find the
causes and cure.
Research, education, and patient services are at the heart of
LFA, Delaware Chapter’s programs.
Services provided by the Lupus Foundation of America,
Delaware Chapter include:
Monthly
Support Group Meetings - Informal format to discuss issues that
affect patients, relatives, and friends to address concerns.
Community professionals speak occasionally on current issues as
well.
Community
Outreach - Spread lupus awareness through health fairs, civic
organizations, corporate groups, etc.
Newsletter
- Members receive "Living With Lupus" newsletter
quarterly.
Magazine
- Members receive subscription to "Lupus Now Magazine."
Library
- Books, pamphlets, videos, and up to date articles available for
purchase or loan.
